O Superior Tribunal de Justiça Desportiva (STJD) concedeu efeito suspensivo ao zagueiro Léo, do Cruzeiro, de acordo com o Super Esportes. A partir desta decisão, o defensor poderá atuar pela Raposa no clássico com o Atlético-MG, neste domingo às 16h. O duelo, no Independência, é o primeiro jogo da final do Campeonato Mineiro.

Vale lembrar que o atleta foi condenado pelo STJD por ter dado um soco noatacante Ricardo Oliveira, do Galo, durante o segundo tempo do clássico válido pela nona rodada do Campeonato Mineiro, no dia 4 de março. O jogador foi enquadrado noartigo 254-A do CBJD. Nessa situação, a penalidade mínima seria de quatro partidas, podendo alcançar 12 jogos.

A relatora Arlete Mesquita deu o benefício ao camisa 3 por entender que Léo já cumpriu duas partidas de suspensão. A determinação é válida até que o recurso do Cruzeiro sejajulgado pelo Tribunal.

A tendência, então, é que Léo seja escalado pelo técnico Mano Menezes na equipe titular. Vale ressaltar que o zagueiro marcou presença no treino desta quarta-feira.

Mashrafe Mortaza, the Bangladesh allrounder, has not been included in the 15-man squad for the World Cup. Mortaza had injured his right knee while playing club cricket in Dhaka in December and was striving to recover in time for the tournament. He had begun bowling off a short run-up during net sessions in the last few days but the selectors decided against including him in the campaign. Shakib Al Hasan was named captain of the squad and Tamim Iqbal will be his deputy.”There is little chance that Mortaza will be fit before the World Cup,” chief selector Rafiqul Alam told AFP, adding that coach Jamie Siddons supported this assessment. “Mortaza, however, has the chance to be included in the team later if he fully recovers and an opportunity arises.”Mortaza’s absence is a blow to Bangladesh but they have enjoyed a string of positive results under Shakib recently, including beating New Zealand 4-0 in October 2010 and Zimbabwe 3-1 in their most recent outing in December.The doubt over Mortaza’s selection was the only major question ahead of the announcement. And though his exclusion effectively means that Mortaza won’t be part of the World Cup, Siddons was optimistic. “He [Mortaza] is on track with his rehab. He was supposed to bowl today, bowl off a full run-up at the end of the month in eight to ten days,” Siddons had told the day before the squad was announced.”We definitely want him to be fit. If the selectors don’t pick him, and if he’s fit by the first match, we can use him as a replacement in the World Cup. There are a few good reasons for him to bowl. Jacques Kallis’ return to full fitness headlined South Africa’s first day of World Cup training in the subcontinent. Kallis “had a full net today and he started bowling again” but that doesn’t mean he is guaranteed to feature in the starting XI come February 24, when South Africa’s campaign gets underway against West Indies in Delhi.”I don’t see the need to expose him too early,” Graeme Smith, the South Africa captain, said at the team’s arrival press conference in Chennai. Kallis has been out of action since the first week of January when he injured his rib during South Africa’s Test series against India. Kallis was hit by fast bowler Sreesanth, resulting in bruising and a contusion and was left out of the ODI series in order to recover for the World Cup.This will be Kallis’ fourth World Cup – he’s the most experienced South African player in the squad and also their premier allrounder. In the absence of a player in the mould of Shaun Pollock or Lance Klusener and with the selectors opting to leave out Albie Morkel, South Africa’s only other genuine allrounder is Robin Peterson, with JP Duminy and Faf du Plessis fulfilling the role to a slightly lesser degree. That means Kallis’ value in this tournament is going to be massive and Smith wants him to be monitored carefully. “I don’t feel the need to put him under pressure today to be ready tomorrow. Having him fit is a big asset so we will manage him well upfront.”Managing Kallis, which may well translate into rotating him, will have a significant impact on the balance on the squad, as was seen during the ODI series against India. South Africa found themselves a batsman short in the lower order, which showed a weakness at No.6 and 7, and a bowler who can perform the dual role of controlling the game by stemming the run flow and taking wickets.The addition of Morne van Wyk, an experienced batsman, to the squad for the tournament, may plug the first gap and Smith thinks the second has smoothed itself out because of the sum of its parts. “We’ve got two left armers [Lonwabo Tsotsobe and Wayne Parnell] which is different and three, frontline spinners [Johan Botha, Robin Peterson and Imran Tahir]. This is our most varied attack in a long time.”Smith is correct when he says South Africa have struggled to achieve an attack that was this dynamic in the past. It’s all part of what he thinks has been the growth of South African cricket on an international level since 1991. “Back then, South African cricket was still very young in terms of readmission into sport. There were a lot of building blocks that needed to be put in place,” he said. South Africa always had solid foundations and produced quality cricketers, but now, twenty years later, it appears as though they are not just content with the solid brick house, but ready to expand on it.From that perspective, it makes sense that South Africa have their most inexperienced but dynamic World Cup squad for this tournament. “This current squad has a lot of energy in the way they play,” Smith said. “There are a lot of young guys who are really excited to have this opportunity.”Smith took over as captain as a young man himself, at 22, and admits that while he was finding his feet, “the first three to four years were inconsistent.” He is now leading the team in his swansong as ODI captain and said he has leant to “trust the guys and that gives them confidence as well.” Smith said he will allow every member of his team “to play their natural game,” because he believed by doing that the team can succeed. The only man who might not be able to do that is Kallis, because his instincts call for him to play in any situation regardless of his own injuries. This time, he is going to be carefully handled so that when the team needs his natural game the most, he will be there.

The channels will be barred from practice sessions and the press conferences related to the three remaining matches, including Wednesday’s semi-final between India and Pakistan in Mohali, unless they sign a written undertaking that they will adhere to the ICC guidelines.”The channels have violated the terms and conditions of the accreditation agreement and news access guidelines they signed up to at the start of the tournament,” an ICC spokesperson told ESPNcricinfo. “Their accreditations have been deactivated.” It is believed that at least 40 leading channels will be affected.Apparently the ICC has repeatedly warned the channels of violations during the tournament and took the decision to bar them only after the guidelines continued to be breached. It is believed that the breaches have been of a commercial nature; there could be elements of ambush marketing involved with the channels running shows sponsored by companies that are in competition with the ICC sponsors.Meanwhile, the Broadcast Editors’ Association (BEA) and the National Broadcasters Association have decided to approach India’s Information & Broadcasting ministry on the matter. Shazi Zaman, the BEA president, has termed the ICC move as arbitrary and an infringement of media rights, according to .ESPN-StarSports has the broadcast rights for the World Cup. The first semi-final between Sri Lanka and New Zealand will be played in Colombo tomorrow while the final will be held in Mumbai on April 2.

O Corinthians iniciou o Campeonato Brasileiro a mil por hora. Passadas as duas primeiras rodadas, a equipe do técnico Fábio Carille mantém 100% de aproveitamento e neste domingo passou com facilidade pelo Paraná com goleada de 4 a 0 fora de casa. O resultado deixou o treinador muito satisfeito, a ponto de ele não descartar repetir o início da campanha vitoriosa do ano passado. O Timão terminou o primeiro turno invicto, em uma campanha histórica.

-É muito difícil, mas aconteceu uma vez (arrancada). Eu passo para o grupo que a gente tem que estar embolado ali entre os primeiros, após dez rodadas, sempre estar próximo. Para na arrancada dos últimos jogos, a gente medir forças mesmo – analisou o treinador.

A partida foi especial para Carille pelo reencontro com o Paraná, clube no qual atuou como jogador. Ele falou sobre isso e outras coisas na entrevista coletiva após o jogo. Confira:

Análise da partida
O resultado foi muito grande. A gente tem uma preocupação de quando ganha jogo grande, de Libertadores, sobre a preparação do jogo seguinte. Muda muito o horário, a preparação. Mas o time teve a tranquilidade de rodar a bola, seguramos a pressão inicial que já esperávamos. E os quatro gols foram de bola trabalhada, lado oposto, tudo que exigimos.

Reagir na pressão
Corinthians sabe jogar no seu campo, sem bola. Isso é de anos. Sabe sofrer, ser pressionado e quando tem a bola, tem muita qualidade, estamos mostrando isso, depois do Paulista mostramos muita maturidade.

Goleada
O time sabe que quando não joga com o 9 tem de estar com a bola nos pés. Temos de encher o campo do adversário, encher com os meias, eles têm esse entendimento.

Rodriguinho na Seleção?
Com essa formação, deixamos ele mais perto do gol. E sabemos da qualidade que ele tem, perna esquerda, perna direita. Com essa formação, ele fica mais perto. De 2016 pra cá, só uma parte do segundo semestre ano passado ele deu uma caída. Em 2016 chamou a responsabilidade, ano passado no Paulista e esse ano muito bem. Se for convocado, será merecido.

Como rodar o elenco sem perder qualidade?
A segurança que eu tenho é o que me mostrou até agora. O Gabriel saiu do time e eu deixei claro que foi a questão da bola aérea. A gente sofreu com isso, contra o Bragantino. Contra o Fluminense, tínhamos essa preocupação. Hoje vimos que o Paraná não era tão alto. Renê Júnior era titular até outro dia, está recuperando a confiança, Mateus já jogou. Vou ter de rodar o elenco agora, ser inteligente para tomar as melhores decisões.

Jogadores marcando gols
Essa está sendo a nossa cobrança, de que jogar sem 9 tem de aparecer dentro da área. Sem o nove, esses caras das pontas, os meias, os volantes são importantes. Sei que não vou contar com o Roger na Copa do Brasil. Pela Libertadores só a gente classificando. Então nossa cobrança é para que os jogadores de trás cheguem para fazer mais gols. Saio feliz porque o resultado fortalece ainda mais.

Sidcley
A gente sabe desse poder ofensivo do Sidcley, e o que marcou contra o Palmeiras o Dudu, e é isso que tem de melhorar. E a vibração, depois que a gente fez o segundo, sei que é muito difícil perder o jogo pela nossa consistência. Passo para eles não relaxarem.
