Everton must refrain from making a knee-jerk decision by signing Steven Nzonzi, amid doubt in the AS Roma midfielder’s future with loan side Stade Rennais.

What’s the word?

According to Foot Mercato, the Blues have continued to monitor Nzonzi’s situation since he departed the Stadio Olimpico for Roazhon Park on a temporary deal in the last January transfer window.

Rennes fought off Premier League interest in Nzonzi and signed the Frenchman to add depth in their engine room last winter, which proved a wise decision after the £9m-rated brute helped the Ligue 1 outfit to secure qualification to the Champions League last term.

But just months on, discussions between Roma and Nzonzi, about terminating his loan deal ,are now said to be ongoing, even though Rennes had hoped to retain the 32-year-old with the prospect of a two-year contract.

Arsenal and Everton are expected to pay close attention to Nzonzi’s situation having tracked his path previously, as Julien Stephan begins scouting alternatives in case the 20-cap France international decides to quit his side.

Nzonzi has been a key part of Stephan’s plans with starting roles in all 17 of his Ligue 1 appearances this term, while opening five of the Roazhon Park native’s Champions League Group Stage ties.

Brands must block a deal

However, Everton should not be tempted to pursue a deal for Nzonzi this month should the £93,000-per-week enforcer decide to end his first spell back in France since 2009, as the former Blackburn Rovers and Stoke City enforcer will not be an upgrade on those already featuring at Goodison Park.

Nzonzi has hardly taken Ligue 1 by storm this season with the 32-year-old often failing to present a fierce defensive presence, with just 0.9 successful tackles, 0.3 interceptions and 1.7 ground duels won per a game, per SofaScore.

He rarely brings play forward either, with just 0.5 successful dribbles, nor does he really create chances with just 0.4 key balls.

In terms of defensive actions, the only current Everton players Nzonzi’s numbers from this season would eclipse are those of the rarely-seen Fabian Delph and the attack-minded duo Bernard and Gylfi Sigurdsson, who average 0.6, 0.83 and 0.88 successful tackles per Premier League appearance, respectively.

Andre Gomes is also the sole Toffees player to offer fewer interceptions (0.08), but he is seemingly now far from Ancelotti’s plans with no top-flight starts since early November.

Whilst Carlo Ancelotti awaits the return of Allan from a hamstring injury, he should trust his current players to get Everton the wins they desire, as a knee-jerk move for N’Zonzi would simply see them bring in a player whose numbers indicate that he’s not as good as the players in the Blues’ squad.

Allan is expected to return to holding down the defensive role in the Italian tactician’s unit soon, too, making it even less vital that Marcel Brands commits more financial resources on further midfield options, unless Everton anticipate moving on from those currently out of favour.

For now, Ancelotti should manage with what he’s got until Allan returns to full fitness.

O treinador também foi questionado sobre a possível negociação com Rony, do Athletico-PR. O comandante ressaltou que passou o nome do jogador para a diretoria, apenas isso.

– Não liguei para o Rony, porque essa é função da direção, mas ele estava na lista de indicados para a posição, porque ele é uma referência no Brasil e todos gostariam de contar com ele – afirmou.

Tiago também destacou que a equipe do Corinthians vai ser competitiva para a temporada, mas frisou o equilíbrio do campeonato.

– Vamos ser competitivos, é difícil estimar número de jogos, mas quando mais adversários jogar, mais repertório tem. A gente viu o Guarani ontem, tá aberto o confronto, mas temos muita coisa pra melhorar, teve movimentações que gostei muito hoje. Um início de jogo muito forte, antes do primeiro gol teve ainda mais uma chance clara, isso me dá confiança de que chegaremos no dia 5 competitivos, mas em termos de naturalidade de jogo é difícil te dizer – destacou.

Tiago Nunes comentou também do artilheiro do jogo: Boselli. O argentino fez três gols na estreia do time na competição estadual. No entanto, relembrou que há disputa no setor ofensivo.

– Mauro Boselli é muito conhecido, veio porque reconhecidamente faz muitos gols, ele tem aproveitamento muito bom de finalização, e é uma disputa muito boa com Love, Gustavo, e esse aproveitamento é o que dá pra ele a condição de titular. Tem muito jogador com câimbras, vamos ver se vai dar continuidade de escalação no próximo jogo – parabenizou.

Com a vitória, o Corinthians somou os três primeiros pontos no Grupo D do Paulistão. O Timão, porém, está na segunda colocação, perdendo no saldo de gols para o Guarani, que goleou por 4 a 0 na estreia. Na próxima partida, o Timão joga, às 19h, contra o Mirassol.

وقال في تصريحات للموقع الرسمي للأهلي: “خلال الـ4 سنوات الماضية، قمنا بعمل برنامج عائلة الأهلي، وحققنا إنجازات كبيرة، وراضٍ بشكل عام عما تحقق، وأعضاء الجمعية العمومية كلهم يعشقون النادي ونحترم الانتقادات قبل الإشادات التي يتم توجهيها لنا”.

وأضاف: “ما يدور في الغرف المغلقة أمر خاص بمجلس الإدارة، وأي قرار يصدر عن المجلس يتم احترامه، وبالفعل قد يوجد بعض الاختلافات بيننا، لكنها تكون داخل غرفة الاجتماعات فقط، وارتبط بعلاقة صداقة مع أعضاء مجلس الإدارة بالكامل، وهناك جدال صحي بين أعضاء مجلس الإدارة، وباستثناء ملف كرة القدم، باقي الملفات تخضع للتصويت، ورئيس النادي يستمع إلى جميع الأراء”.

وأشار إلى أن هناك تفويضا للخطيب في ملف كرة القدم، وقد حققنا العديد من الإنجازات منها بطولتي دوري الأبطال وبرونزية المونديال، ونمتلك فريقا هو الأقوي حاليًا على مستوى مصر وقارة إفريقيا، مشيرا إلى أن بيتسو موسيماني مدرب جيد، ويحقق نتائج رائعة، والفريق فاز في كل المباريات في بطولة الدوري.

وأضاف: “أعضاء مجلس الإدارة يتم تكليفهم بملفات معينة، وتم عمل عدة لجان برئاسة أعضاء المجلس، لقد حصلت على 4 ملفات، من جانب المجلس، أولها ترأست اللجنة العليا لتنظيم البطولات الإفريقية وحققنا نجاحات كبيرة، وأشركنا العديد من الشباب داخل النادي في التنظيم، وتم تكريمي من الاتحادين المصري والإفريقي لكرة اليد، وأيضا الاتحادين المصري والإفريقي للكرة الطائرة، كما تم تكليفي مع زملائي في مجلس الإدارة، بإعداد لائحة النادي الأهلي، وقمنا بعمل حوار مجتمعي، وكان هناك آلية تواصل مع الأعضاء، وأدرت عدة ورش عمل، حتى تم اعتماد لائحة النادي”.

وأكد أن الخطيب يحظى بثقة كبيرة من أعضاء النادي لأنه يعمل بحب وتفانٍ، وبذل مجهودا رهيبا على مدار الـ4 سنوات الماضية وكان يتابع كل كبيرة وصغيرة بنفسه، خاصة على مستوى الإنشاءات داخل النادي الأهلي، لذلك فإن الجميع يثقون في قائمته الانتخابية بعد التطوير الذي شاهدوه بأعينهم داخل فروع النادي المختلفة.

وقال: “عائلة الأهلي هو اسم برنامجنا الانتخابي في الدورة السابقة، وعائلة الأهلي تضم جميع الأطياف سواء الأعضاء أو الجمهور، وسوف نعمل على استكمال البرنامج في الدورة القادمة، قمنا بعمل رصد لكافة المقترحات والمشاكل التي تواجه الأعضاء داخل النادي، وتم وضعها ضمن برنامجنا وأهدافنا للعمل على إنجازها في السنوات المقبلة”.

وأشار إلى أن قرارات مجلس إدارة النادي لا تتأثر مطلقًا بما يثار عبر مواقع التواصل الاجتماعي “السوشيال ميديا”، لأن مصلحة الأهلي لدينا فوق كل شئ.

وفيما يتعلق باختيار خالد مرتجي للترشح على منصب امين الصندوق بقائمة الخطيب، أكد الجارحي أن هذا الاختيار تم بناء علي الرؤية الاستراتيجية الشاملة التي وضعها الخطيب للنادي خلال السنوات الأربع المقبلة، والتي تستهدف تحويل النادي إلى كيان اقتصادي واستثماري ضخم علي المستويين المحلي والعالمي.

وقال: “الخطيب اختار خالد مرتجي لمنصب أمين الصندوق، في ظل الرغبة في تكوين كيان اقتصادي كبير، ومرتجي لديه علاقات دولية، وأدار شركات كبرى، ويستطيع أن يدير الحوكمة للنادي الأهلي، وأن يكون حلقة الربط بين النادي وكبرى الكيانات الاقتصادية العالمية، ولا يشترط أن يكون أمين الصندوق لديه خلفية محاسبية، فهناك حسن حمدي وإبراهيم المعلم والكابتن الخطيب نفسه تولى المنصب وحققوا نجاحات، لأنه منصب استراتيجي، وكل مرحلة لها رجالها”.

When push comes to shove, I believe he will play a big knock for us. I’d hate to see him go but it’s something we’ll discuss as we go on”De Kock notched 26 against UAE, his highest score of the tournament and only his second in double figures. Four days later he wasn’t picked because of fitness issues.Turns out Ishant did his knee again in the only training session India had between the two matches. “He bowled in the nets, and after that he had a sore knee because of the nets session,” MS Dhoni said when asked what went wrong so soon. “Before that also he was bowling but he was fine, but by the time we came for the press conference there was no niggle as such. This came to our notice by evening but it was too late for us to do anything. Also we didn’t want to push him. Between the MCG Test and the ODI that Ishant was finally picked for, he had been gradually increasing his workload. Now India had an option of going to either Bhuvneshwar Kumar or Umesh Yadav, but they chose Mohit. Dhoni was asked the reason for going to a player from outside the World Cup squad, and he said, “Who should have played?””Why, there are Bhuvneshwar and Umesh,” was the response.Dhoni replied rather mysteriously: “There has to be a reasoning, no? That’s why they haven’t played.”The most plausible reason to play Mohit would have been to see how he is going should Ishant not be available for the World Cup.
